Brain Cancer Diagnosis:

If the brain cancer is suspected in the patient, doctor check the function of brain. Doctor will check the knee-jerks strength in muscles, ability to feel pain and pleasure, hot and cold on screen. Doctor may asked some questions for mental exercises.

Doctor uses two test, CT scaning and Magnetic Resource Imaging (MRI) to detect the brain cancer and to plan for treatmnet. If the cancer is migrated from other parts of the body, test of lungs and breast will be required.

  • CT scan (computerised tomography): Doctor move the CT scanner around the head of patient without tuoching. CT scanner will takes the picture from various angles. Doctor can see the picture on computer screen. A drug is injected in the vein for cleare picture. This test is painless and take the half hour time. After the test doctor will give the perimssion for go to home.

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): In this test magnetism is uses instead of X-rays to draw a picture of brain on computer screen. This test is also painless and quite noisy. This test is similar to the CT scan.

  • Angiogram (also called Arteriogram): This test is used very rare. In this test dye is injected into artery of the patient and doctor will take the picture by X-rays. This test will show the blood vessels supply and position of the tumour
