Pancreatic cancer:

In the pancreas cancer, cancer cells are found in the pancreas’s tissue. The pancreas cancer is tenth most common cancer. The Pancreas is the part of digestion system of our body and located in behind our stomach and in front of our spine. The pancreas is the collection of glands that are responsible for various tasks in our body. The pancreas is approximately six inch long and look like a leaf of a plant. Our body makes digestive juice and insulin in the pancreas. So the pancreas is important in our body for produce the digestive juice and insulin. On the basis of jobs, pancreas is divided in two parts. First is exocrine pancreas and second is endocrine pancreas. Exocrine pancreas is responsible for produce the digestive juice and endocrine pancreas is responsible for produce the insulin and hormone.

The digestive system of our body digests the food eaten by us. After the stomach, partially digested food moves into the duodenum and pancreas release the digestive juices which mix with the food. This juice break the partially digest food into small fragments that absorbed into body.

Insulin is very important for our body. Insulin make in endocrine pancreas. Insulin controls the level of sugar in our body.

The Risk of pancreas cancer is increased in your body I you have the following:

  • Smoking: The risk of pancreas cancer increase due to smoking.

  • Diet: Fat and sugar increase the risk of pancreas cancer.

  • Alcohol: Alcohol increases the risk of pancreas cancer.

  • Diabetes: Diabetes increase small risk of pancreas cancer. A lot of people with diabetes will not get pancreas cancer.

  • Hereditary Pancreatitis: It is a very rare case in which cancer is inherited form parents.

  • Stomach Ulcer: Stomach ulcer increase the risk of stomach cancer.

Treatment of Pancreas Cancer:

 

The types of treatment depend on the types of pancreas cancer, size and stage.

  • Surgery: Treatment of pancreas cancer is very difficult. If the cancer diagnose in early age, it can be treated by surgery. Surgery is the best treatment for pancreas cancer in early stage. If the cancer is too large and has spread then surgery is not possible.

  • Chemotherapy: In this therapy, a special type of drug used to kill the cancer cells.

  • Radiation Therapy: In the radiation therapy, high energy rays are used to kill the cancer cells.

  • Biological Therapy: In the biological therapy, body’s immune system used to fight cancer cells.
