Skin cancer:

Skin cancer is the most common types of cancer. Approximately one million of new cases of skin cancer occur every year and it is rising faster than other types of cancer. Most probably skin cancer occurs on the face, neck or head but it can be found on any parts of the body. We divide the screen cancer in two categories are as follows:

  • Basal Cell Carcinoma: The most common skin cancer is basal cell carcinoma. It is a slow growing, least dangerous cancer and hardly spread in other parts of body. If it left untreated may be dangerous.

  • Squamous Cell Carcinoma: The second most common skin cancer is Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Generally it appears on lips, ears and face but some times it can spread in other parts of the body such as lymph nodes and internal organs. It may be serious if not treated.

  • Malignant Melanoma: The least common and most dangerous type of skin cancer is Malignant Melanoma. It can cured if diagnose in early stage.

Any human can get skin cancer. You have greater risk of skin cancer if…

  • Skin is fair

  • Light-colored hair

  • Light-colored eyes.

  • Large number of moles on your body.

  • Moles in unusual size and shape on your body.

  • Genetic factors (Family history of skin cancer).  

  • Mostly working or playing in the open.

  • Live nearer to the equator. , at a higher altitude, or

  • Live in any place that gets powerful, constant sunlight.

Symptoms of Skin Cancer:

The most common symptoms of screen cancer are any spot on body that:

  • Changes in range

  • Has an rough shape

  • Has an unbalanced color.

  • becomes swollen

  • form an ulcer

  • ooze

  • feels unusual

 

 


Treatment of Skin Cancer:

Skin cancer is treated by different methods. It depends on the stage of cancer, types of cancer and location of cancer on the body.

  • Surgery: If the cancer is small then can be removing easily and quick by surgery using local anesthesia. If the cancer spread in more parts of the body, may required the major surgery.

  • Radiation Therapy: In this treatment doctor use a high energy rays to kill the cancer cells.

  • Photodynamic Therapy: In this therapy two steps are involve. In first steps patient will be injected by a light activated drug. After that 24-48 hours later a laser light directed into tumor, revealing the cancerous tissue to an assured range of light. The light switch on the drug, destroying the cancerous cells.

  • Topical Chemotherapy: In this treatment drug is placed directly onto the skin.
