Thyroid cancer is disease, which occurs in thyroid gland(located in the front part of neck) on the basis of microscopic study thyroid cancer can be divided into four types. Four main types of thyroid cancer are papillary, follicular, medullary, and anaplastic thyroid cancer.

Every year 37000 case of thyroid cancer is found, according to the National Cancer Institute. Females are more prone to this disease its ratio is three to one. Thyroid cancer can occur in any age group, although it is most common after age 30, and its aggressiveness increases significantly in older patients. N in the thyroid is found in initial stage. Remember, over 99% of thyroid nodules are not cancer. But when thyroid cancer does begin to grow within the thyroid gland, it almost always does so within a discrete nodule within the thyroid.

Thyroid cancer is fairly uncommon, in the United States Thyroid cancer requires life long monitoring and the chances of survival is also very high with proper care there is less chance of reoccurrence.
